 Why is it important to read current affairs?

1) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will receive the CERAWeek global energy and environment leadership award in recognition of his commitment to sustainability in the energy and the environment.

4) A total of 25 cities have been shortlisted for the 'Nurturing Neighbourhoods Challenge' cohort under the government's Smart Cities Mission in collaboration with the Bernard van Leer Foundation (BvLF) and technical partner WRI India.
👉This challenge is a three-year initiative which aims at supporting early childhood-friendly neighbourhoods under the Smart Cities Mission.

5) The Bangalore International Airport Limited's (BIAL) has bagged global recognition from the Airports Council International World's 'Voice of the Customer' award.
👉The 'Voice of the Customer' recognises airports that continued to prioritise their customers and remained committed to ensuring that their voice was heard during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.

6) Amazon is setting up its first device manufacturing line in India to make Fire TV sticks locally and has partnered with Cloud Network Technology, a subsidiary of Foxconn, to begin producing the device at its Chennai plant later this year.

9) "By Many a Happy Accident: Recollections of a Life" is a book authored by M Hamid Ansari, the former Vice President of India.

10) Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s annual interaction with students 'Pariksha Pe Charcha' will be held online in this year in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
